APR Karate have emerged as overall champions of the Zanshin Karate Championship 2026, held at Petit Stade in Kigali, with more than 600 athletes from Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda taking part.
The fourth edition of the international championship was held from 7 to 9 August and brought together athletes competing across different age categories and disciplines.
APR Karate fielded 19 athletes and recorded a strong medal haul, winning eight gold, five silver and one bronze in the senior category.
The team also claimed two silver medals in the under-14 category, further strengthening its position at the competition.
The championship was organised by Zanshin Sport Solution in partnership with the Rwanda Karate Federation (FERWAKA), with support from sponsors including Kampala University and Kenya University Hospital.
The event's previous three editions were held in Huye, in Rwanda's Southern Province, where Zanshin Sport Solution is based.
